Every Christian receives in Holy Baptism the gift of God’s Life, which is lived out most fully in the mystical-liturgical life of the Church.
In the Eastern Christian tradition, the traditional form or method of religious education is liturgical in nature because its main purpose and aim is to incorporate the individual person ever deeper into the mystical life of the Church, the Body of Christ. Catechesis, then, is intimately tied to, founded upon, and directed toward the Liturgy, because it is in the Liturgy that the fullness of Divine Life is revealed and communicated.Continue reading
